Media Messages:

I think the media messages that are being brought to us affect our identity. It affects our identity weather we choose to believe it or not. Are the messages towards everyone in the world? The majority of commercials on the television are about weight loss, hair and make-up products and aging cream. With all the commercials everybody any age are buy into the looking “younger” and “hotter” than ever. These days a lot of people are going on diets because the start to think they are fat. I think that we will have a lot more cases of anorexia in the future because of the commercials starting off with saying, “do you wish you could be thinner and better looking than ever” and different things like that.  Also we will have more cases with the pressure to look “right.” We also buy into all the make-up and aging cream commercials because they use famous people in them like, Vanessa Hudgens and Carrie Underwood.

Is this what you really want to look like?

Girls Clothing:

Shouldn’t you dress in what makes you feel comfortable, not what you think people expect? Is the newer style of clothes what everyone should wear? The style is slutty; see threw clothes, belly shirts, butt showing shorts, and clothes with holes in them. I know that some guys encourage it and like it, but does that make it right to wear them? Girls these days will wear anything just to get attention. I don’t know why we have to dress like this for school we are only thirteen to eighteen years old, there is no need. I come to school and see people changing in the bathroom because there parents wont let them leave the house like that. Some parents don’t care but does that make it right? Is some of the clothing we wear inappropriate or is it fun? I think we can still wear the same clothes just make them longer shorts and put something under the shirts so you’re not showing your stomach off.
